This morning I popped out of bed, or at least wide-awake in bed around two in the morning. Now, this is typical because we have an eight month year old child, and he wakes up in the middle of the night and wants to be fed. That’s understandable, but this one was a little bit different. It was a little bit different because my child hadn’t actually woken me up. When I woke up, I was just wide awake. Now granted, my wife and I go to bed really early now to counter this interrupted sleep patterns that we have now. But, I sat there for a while and laid in bed and tried to go back to sleep, as I typically would, but this time I could just tell it was a little bit different.

One of the things that he told me that really resonated with me and it still does today was that actually when you look at somebody who’s doing construction, they always put their tools away at the end of the day.
