Your Attitude Is Everything

Your Attitude Is Everything

Today I had to make a trek to one of those dreaded places, the DMV. You see, I had just recently sold an old car that we had sitting in our garage for over a year. Finally, gave it to a family that really needed it and that was great, but of course you have paperwork that accompanies that.

An Easy Way To Diversify Your Learning

An Easy Way To Diversify Your Learning

Oftentimes, I’m talking about in these daily growth hacks, if you go back through previous episodes, about diversifying your mind, the category of mind, right? How do you get on to new topics, new ways of thinking? Now, one way, of course, is by surrounding yourself with a diverse group of people that are growing. That’s why at the end of these daily growth hacks, I ask you to share this with at least three people, so you can build your personal tribe and have conversations that matter.

Focus On What Matters Most

Focus On What Matters Most

Now, as you can probably tell, if you’re watching this, and certainly if you’re listening to this, you can hear the noise. I’m actually in my adventure van heading on a trip, but I wanted to give you this insight. I just got back from talking to one of my coaching clients, and they were facing an issue in their business. Now, you can extrapolate this to any area of your life, but for this particular person, it was the area of their business.

Revisit: What’s Your Financial Legacy?

Revisit: What’s Your Financial Legacy?

The topic of finances and money causes a lot of stress for most people, and we haven’t talked about a lot in these daily growth hacks, but we’ll be talking about it a lot more, and the reason is is because I want you to have the freedom that I’ve experienced around finances, and it took a long time, but one of those things was determining my financial legacy, and I’m going to ask you what yours is.

Revisit: That Was A Bad Idea

Revisit: That Was A Bad Idea

In the circles I’ve run with – business gets talked about a lot. And oftentimes you’ll hear people talking in social settings about bad ideas, “Hey my cousin had an idea and it was a horrible idea.” “I’ve started a business and it was just a bad idea and that’s why it failed or “I have an idea for a business but I think it might be a bad idea so I’m not going to start it.”

Revisit: I’m Talking About You

Revisit: I’m Talking About You

Hey, I’m talking about you. It’s kind of funny because recently since I’ve been doing these Daily Growth Hacks,  we’ve done over 50 of them so far, which is pretty amazing. I’ve gotten several emails and private messages, people asking me, “Hey, is this about me? Are you talking about me on this subject? Are you talking about my story?”

Letting Things Go Too Long

Letting Things Go Too Long

Today my wife and I got into a little dispute. Now it wasn’t really anything bad, but we were actually talking about time and we had a disconnect. We were both tired, hungry and we had a disconnect over who should do what in regards to watching our son. Now it wasn’t bad and we were able to come together in about an hour or so and reconnect and talk about what was really going on for us. What were the triggers?

The Danger of Holdings Things In

The Danger of Holdings Things In

As a young entrepreneur, I thought it was my job to really be the example of stoicism, to be the example to my staff and to my team and to the rest of the professional world of how controlled I was. The way I would do it is by putting a mask on, and we all put masks on at times. Over time, we learn to shed those more often, but, back then, I was a young entrepreneur and a young business owner on State Street in downtown Santa Barbara, California, the youngest business owner at that time. When I was there, I really bottled everything in and make, “Everything’s great,” and tell everybody, “Things were fine,” and try and take care of everybody.

Gaining Traction

Gaining Traction

When I first started coaching people professionally, I was lucky enough to get a couple of clients at the high-end level right away. Now, these are people that came in from a natural network, people had heard about me and knew just kind of what I’ve been doing and what I’ve been up to in my own personal life as well as my business career. But what always perplexed me why weren’t more people reaching out to me? Why weren’t people reaching out to me to get resources, to get information, I mean I put in my 10,000 hours way over 10,000 ago. In other words, I had all the education, experience and I was ready to help millions of people, I was just waiting for them to knock on the door.

Revisit: The Match Game

Revisit: The Match Game

What is the match game? I’m not talking about a dating game. I’m talking about a trick or a game that you should be playing on a daily basis, moment by moment to make sure that your words, actions, and energies match up to what you want to create as your own story. What do I mean? Are you walking around talking about being broke? Man, I wish I just had a little bit more money, so I could get out in nature and have a boat to be on the water, things like that.

How Being Injured Can Be A Blessing In Life

I was going through a training modality, which you may know of already because I’ve talked about it before in other mediums. I was going through it, and the body worker was working on me and found a knot, and they dug in. Now, in all fairness, they asked me. said, “Hey, on a pain scale of one to ten, what is this?” I said, “Seven.” It wasn’t overly painful.

Revisit: You Gotta Make Time To Play

Revisit: You Gotta Make Time To Play

As many of you know, I’ve spent over two decades in the fitness industry, and during that time, I’ve literally worked with thousands of people. One thing that I’ve noticed over time. and I talk about it a lot. is you get two men together, they form a bond, they form a trust, they form a friendship and guess what, they turn to 14-year old buys. It’s inevitably going to happen. I’ve never seen it not happen.

Embrace the Surprise

Embrace the Surprise

It is my birthday, or a couple days ago was my birthday, but the weekend is upon us and my wife is surprising me with a lovely weekend away. Now, a couple years ago, probably even a year ago, but probably a couple years ago, I would have spent so much time and energy trying to figure out where we’re going, poking, prodding, asking certain questions of her to get an idea of the climate, the temperature, what kind of activities we would be doing, and I was really good at it. In fact, I could almost always pinpoint exactly where we were going each and every time without actually telling, but what happened was it really drained on her. I was ruining the surprise for her.

You’re A Product of What You Do Regularly

You’re A Product of What You Do Regularly

Here we are coming to the end of the month, the end of March and the end of the first fiscal, or first quarter, in 2018. So if you’re watching this while these are released live, this is a perfect time for you to go right now and mark your calendar, mark off time to go back and reflect on this past quarter, these past three months. What have you been doing? Here’s what I would suggest. Now, obviously, if you’re a business owner, this should be a practice that you’re doing in your business to look at three stages. So your net, your gross, and your take-home pay. Those are three numbers that you want to be looking at each and every week when you’re actually doing a review.

Take Care of Yourself

Take Care of Yourself

If you don’t take care of yourself, who does? You’ve got to fill your tank, and, as you can hear, my son definitely agrees. Here we are on a Wednesday out for a beautiful hike and, of course, there’s nobody around. Everybody’s following the nine-to-five, get a job, clock in and clock out at 5:00 and then go to happy hour, maybe the gym, who knows, but you’re different. You’re here listening to these daily growth hacks, and I want to make sure you’re taking care of yourself first because by taking care of yourself first, you can actually take care of all the people around you.

Revisit: Rising Up to the Occasion

Revisit: Rising Up to the Occasion

Today I had a conversation with the team members of one of my businesses. This was the leadership team for one of my marketing agencies. We meet each and every week, and one of the things that I told them, and I was upset. I was laying into them because I thought we were playing small. I thought us as a whole entire team weren’t living up to our potential, and I was actually really upset.
